July 2024 - Mother's Union

Our Mothers' Union members have been busy over the past few months, buying items for emergency toiletry packs which are given to patients being admitted to hospital through A&E.

Our members have also been busy knitting baby items.

Today 60 emergency toiletry packs were delivered to A&E at Antrim Area Hospital and 100 baby hats, cardigans and incubator blankets were delivered to the Neonatal Department. The staff at both departments were delighted to receive these items on behalf of the patients and really appreciated these contributions.

12th June 2024

The Community Friendship Club ended their year with a trip to the Whitehead Railway Museum on Wednesday 12th June.

Forty one of us boarded a coach at Carnmoney taking the short trip to Whitehead where we were shown around the museum and grounds in 3 groups by very knowledgable volunteer tour guide.

After the visit we were able to relax in the cafe over a cup of tea before return home to Carnmoney. It was a fascinating visit thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Good Friday Children’s Workshop
Friday 29th March

Thirty-nine children and their parents, as well as a large number of adult leaders from the church, enjoyed our traditional Good Friday workshop.

For the first hour the children undertook three craft activities: making Easter cards, an Easter wreath telling the story, and a model of Jesus’ empty tomb. Everyone then decamped to the church for singing and teaching on the Easter story, before the highlight of the morning, our Easter Egg Hunt around the church. They were well hidden this year but eventually all forty-eight eggs were found and the children worked out the hidden message: “Easter is Hope”.

We look forward to welcoming many of the children back to our Holiday Club which will be held from 12th to 16th August this year.

New Defibrillators Installed

Two defibrillators are now available on our premises. The Church one will only be available whenever the Church is open and is therefore not for use by the general public. It is currently held in the Choir Vestry with plans to place it in the porch entrance.

A registered public defibrillator has been placed in a cabinet positioned on the outside wall at the entrance to the hall. The cabinet is locked but the code will be given by the NI Ambulance Service to anyone who requires it.

The NI Ambulance Service will also instruct on its use.

The second defibrillator and cabinet have been donated by Harry and Lorinda Hamilton and will be dedicated in remembrance of Harry at a later date.
