Knitting Bee

Meet Thursday mornings at 10:30am
Contact: Rev. Carol Harvey  Tel: 07860 696800

Our Knitting Bee meets every Thursday at 10.30am in the Memorial Room. We are kept busy knitting and crocheting, with a variety of projects from premature baby hats and cardigans, incubator blankets, twiddle muffs, hats and scarves for seafarers to poppies and Easter chicks/bunnies, with lots more in between. We always have time for tea and biscuits (and sometimes cake!) and the chat never stops. New members are always welcome and even if you just want to pop in to have a cuppa with us, we’d be glad to see you.

MAY 2024

Rev. Mark Reid from the Mission to Seafarers called in for a visit with the ladies of the Knitting Bee who supply the Mission with numerous knitted items for seafarers visiting the Port of Belfast.

Maureen Robinson is pictured opposite with a wonderful collection of twiddle muffs which she knit and decorated.

Half of them will go to Glenabbey Nursing Home and half to Antrim Hospital, for their dementia patients.

Well done Maureen, that’s a wonderful contribution to the wellbeing of those in need.

March 2024

After a very busy time coming up to Easter, the ladies have packed away their needles until 11th April. Opposite, you can see some of the Easter bunnies, which were very much appreciated by parishioners when they were distributed in the Parish.

Have a lovely Easter time ladies and I look forward to being able to have a knit and natter again when we return in April.

Every blessing,
Carol
