Andy is currently enjoying his sabbatical and has already walked over 100 miles on three of the pilgrimage paths in England and Ireland. However, the big one is still to come!
Between Tuesday 15th July and Tuesday 22nd July he will be walking the Canterbury Way from Southwark Cathedral in London to Canterbury Cathedral, a distance of 90 miles. This was the route made famous by Geoffrey Chaucer in his "Canterbury Tales" and Andy will be reading this weighty tome (in a modern English translation!) as he travels.
He is also hoping to get sponsored in order to raise money for our parish link with Olo Diocese in South Sudan. This will either be for a personal visit to meet the church out there (although the political situation needs to improve to make that a possibility), or if this is not possible, all money raised will go to our latest parish project: providing Olo with a much needed borehole and well so that drinking water is much more easily accessible.
If you would like to support Andy in this way, he has set up a Just Giving page. Just click HERE to visit his page and make a donation. Alternatively, any contributions can be given to Carol or Joyce in person.
We look forward to hearing about his adventures when he returns in September.
